A peak behind
the curtain.

This project helped a local theatre build excitement for their production through a short-form promotional video designed for social media.

Jewish Theatre Grand Rapids needed a compelling video that could generate interest in an upcoming production while working within a limited promotional timeline. The challenge was not only creating something engaging quickly, but also promoting a copyrighted musical without relying on extensive footage, music, or other protected material from the show itself.

Goal

To make the most of the available time, I scheduled filming during an existing rehearsal rather than arranging a separate production day. This approach allowed us to capture authentic moments while minimizing demands on the cast and creative team.

During rehearsal, I gathered footage of actors, directors, choreographers, and production staff collaborating to bring the story to life. I then conducted brief interviews with members of the company, asking them about their roles and their connection to the production.

The final video combined these interviews with behind-the-scenes footage to create a sense of curiosity and anticipation. By focusing on the people making the production possible and carefully selecting moments that reflected the spirit and style of the show, we were able to tell a compelling story that captured the heart of the production.

Strategy

The finished video gave audiences a glimpse into the creative process behind The Flying Lovers of Vitebsk while highlighting the passion and dedication of the people involved. After being shared across social media channels, the video helped build awareness for the production and contributed to strong audience attendance throughout the show's run.

Outcome

Do you have a story worth sharing?
I can help you tell it.
